Supreme Court rules providers without proper license cannot collect for PIP services
"Healing Place, Ltd." sued Farm Bureau to recover for Personal Injury Protection medical and psychiatric services it provided to Linda Wallace, a woman injured in a car accident. Wallace apparently required a supervised environment. The PIP claimants provided her 24-hour care, but without securing licensing as an "adult foster care facility" as required by law. On that basis, the Supreme Court reversed the Court of Appeals and ruled that the providers were ineligible for payment of PIP benefits.
