State Farm's default judgment against motorist is overturned; insurer did not make reasonable effort to serve papers on man

The Supreme Court overturned a judgment State Farm had obtained against Sylvester Hudson, last week.  It held, unanimously, that State Farm had not demonstrated a "diligent inquiry" into Hudson's address before serving him with notice of the lawsuit by publication.  On that basis, the default judgment State Farm obtained before Hudson was aware of the lawsuit was overturned.
