Injured college student can't collect wage loss because she can't prove a waiting job offer

Angela Soranno secured a jury verdict against Norma Hassan Abbas and other defendants after she was injured as a resultof Abbas' negligence.  The verdict included an award of lost income, based on the delay Soranno experienced in completing college because of her injuries.

Although Soranno provided proof that she would have completed her degree but for her injuries, and documented the probable increase in income this would have meant for her, the Court of Appeals over-turned the verdict.  It held that under the no fault act, Soranno was required to document a specific job offer including date of employment, source of employment and wage.  Like most college students, Soranno didn't have a job waiting for her years ahead of time, and on that basis the jury verdict was overturned and her wage loss verdict was vacated.
