General Motors recalls 300,000 Impalas

Today, General Motors announced that it is recalling 300,000 cars because seat belts may come loose in an accident.  Needless to say, the restraint does little good when it is most needed, if it gives way in a collision.  News sources reported that General Motors has known of the defect for more than a year but is only now announcing the recall.
