Defamation and malicious prosecution claims are dismissed; conversion reinstated
Joseph S. Ajlouny and Ali Bajrami became involved in a despicable incident involving sex with a 14-year old girl. Eventually, Ajlouny filed a civil action against Bajrami, accusing him of defamation, malicous prosecution, intentional infliction of emotional distress and conversion of items of personal property. All but the conversion claim were dismissed by the trial court, and the dismissal was upheld on appeal. The court concluded that Ajlouny had not adequately supported his claims with admissible evidence.
