CPSC issues "voluntary" recall of soccer goals
The strangulation death of a young child lead to a recall of Chinese-made nets distributed by Regent Sports Corp. and sold in Wal Marts and Ace Hardware stores. The nets have 20 inch-square holes, which is a dangerous size. The CPSC says that to avoid child entrapment, the holes should be smaller than 17 square inches or larger than 28 square inches. This was the second entrapment report handled by the CPSC. and involving these nets, which have been sold since 2002.
