Court summarily dismisses "tortious interference with contract" claim

In Datam Mfg., LLC v. Magna Powertrain USA, Inc., the Plaintiff filed an action arguing that the actions of the Defendant wrongfully interfered with the plaintiff's existing contractual relationship with two othe business entitites.  The higher Court upheld the trial judge's summary dismissal of the claim, holding that the "act of making a competing offer is not per se a wrongful act" and that the Plaintiff had provided no evidence that the competing offer was made "with malice, ill motivation or unlawful purpose." The lower court had held that the Defendant simply "outbid and outmaneuvered" the Plaintiff, and did nothing "illegal, unethical or fraudulent."
