Court of Appeals judges uphold fraud verdict
The majority of the assigned Court of Appeals panel upheld a $2.5 million dollar fraud award against Charleston Park Singh and Singh Development, despite the Defendants' arguments that it was the economic crash, and not their misrepresentations, that caused the Plaintiff's losses. One judge, Peter O'Connell, would have overturned the verdict and suggested that the plaintiffs could not prove that the Defendants' (proven) fraud caused their damages, given the economic downturn.
