Court holds the medical "standard of care" is not "the law"

In a recent wrongful discharge case, the Michigan Court of Appeals held that even if the Plaintiff, Dr. Linda McIntyre, was being forced to violate the legal "standard of care," when she was terminated, that dishcharge was not wrongful and she had no redress.  The Court, with two stalwart Republicans on the three judge panel, offered the opinion that McIntyre was not being forced to violate "the law" because "the standard of care in the medical profession is not based on an objective legal source."

Oddly, even though it is the required foundation for proving any allegation of malpractice made by a Michigan victim, the standard of care is apparently too vague and "subjective" to be considered "the law."
