Court holds proper venue for defamation is where false claim is communicated to victim's employer

Kevin Murray sued ITC Holdings Corp. and others in Wayne County after the defendants wrongfully concluded that Murray had "purposefully set off transfer trip alarms" and barred him from their premises.  The defendants sought to move the venue of the case to Oakland County where ITC's office was located.  The Court examined the venue statute and pointed out that Murray first suffered injury when the defamatory claims were communicated to his employer in Wayne County.  Therefore, venue was apprpropriately maintained in Wayne.
