Blind woman cannot sue Meijer for slippery entryway that was "open and obvious"

Julie Van Ormen fell in the entryway to a Meijer, Inc. store in Oakland County.  Ms. Van Ormen is legally blind.  She claimed she fell on a slippery area in the doorway to the store.  The Court dismissed her claim and the Court of Appeals upehld the dismissal.  The judges pointed out that the Engler Majority of Michigan's Supreme Court had ruled that owners owe no duty to eliminate open and obvious hazards--regardless of the capacity or limitations of the visitor who is injured.  Absent a different ruling by the Supreme Court, the judges' hands were tied.
