Appeal of "no cause" verdict in malicious prosecution case is rejected
Tommie Lee Reed sued two police officers for malicious prosecution. His case went to trial and the jury awarded him nothing. He appealed arguing that the sole issue to go to the jury should have been the amount of damages; he believed that the evidence was so strong that a verdict in the officers' favor was "against the great weight of the evidence." The Court of Appeals disagreed and held that there was enough evidence to allow the verdict to stand.
