Abbot Labs pays $28 million dollars to settle fraud claim by State of Texas

The State of Texas sued Abbot Laboratories, claiming that the drug manufacturer falsely reported drug prices to Medicaid programs, resulting in overpayment and excessive profits.  The Texas Attorney General acted after a whistleblower reported Abbot was over-pricing drugs.  The Attorney General has now recovered more than 135 million dollars in settlements from drug makers, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
