Woman's retaliatory discharge claim summarily dismissed
In Snider v. Aldi Inc., the employee sued her employer alleging that she was terminated for filing a claim for workers compensation benefits. The employer argued that it fired her for back-dating an accident report. The trial judge concluded that she had, in fact, back-dated an accident report and therefore the employer's termination was non-retaliatory, not pretextual, and legal. Summary disposition was granted and upheld by the Court of Appeals.
