Retirees of City of Dearborn Heights lose action protesting limitation of health benefits
Four retirees from the City of Dearborn sued to maintain their retirement health benefits. They secured a judgment by the lower court requiring the City to pay all premiums for their health coverage and Medicare B coverage. The Court of Appeals heard the City's appeal and last week over-turned its decision. The higher court rejected the retirees' claims that the City's diminution of their retirement coverage was a violation of civil rights and the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the union.
