Employee fired for "just cause" and did not establish material dispute

Eric Dean was fired by the City of Bay City.  He sued in Federal Court, however, that court found no federal basis for challenging the dismissal.  Dean then sued in state court, alleging that the City had not established "just cause" to dismiss him.  The Court of Appeals did not dispute that Dean's contract with the City limited the City's power to discipline him, but it found that the City had established a proper evidentiary basis for the termination, which Dean did not effectively dispute.  It also found no material evidence to support Dean's claim that his firing was retaliatory or a discriminatory.
